My Approach

My Therapeutic Approach

I believe that each person is unique and tailor my therapeutic care with theories and techniques that best fit the circumstances and the client. My work is centered in trauma awareness, social justice, equity, and advocacy. I look forward to creating a collaborative, engaging space to honor your journey. I practice with a toolkit from many different theories and exercise what is appropriate for each client and situation.

Systems and Relationally Focused

We are heavily influenced by the systems that surround us including our cultural, societal, and family backgrounds. I believe that our early experiences within those systems shape our world view, our concept of ourselves, and how we view the world and others around us. Our overall beliefs can impact what we think and feel. Those beliefs can impact our behavior and actions. If we can process our past experiences and how they formed us, we can see patterns that may not be serving us today. Adapting those patterns can help us heal, grow, and change.

I seek to create a safe and allied space and encourage and welcome feedback when I make mistakes. As a white woman, I recognize why people may be skeptical of commitments. My unlearning of the impacts that systemic issues of racism, patriarchy and misogyny takes continual and uncomfortable work within my own white identity. This includes ownership of when I have perpetuated harm and an openness to take accountability for it.
